GOPP organized
recently a Regional Arab Conference on
''Environmental
Balance and Sustainable Urban
Development''

GOPP provides

advice to local authorities;
- Regional
planning and coordinating regional and national plans;
- Crisis
planning;
- Issuing
directives for action at the local level;
- Establishing
norms and standards for industrial and urban agglomerations;
- Proposing
new legislation and bylaws to complement existing regulations;
- Following up
on project implementation nationwide.

To achieve its
purpose, GOPP cooperates with all relevant
bodies at the national, regional and international levels (such
as the New Urban Communities Organization, the General
Organization
for Roads, the Egyptian General Survey
Authority, the
Arab League and the United Nations Centre for
Human
Settlements) and liaises with local and international
experts.
